scout/dana 44 swap

ive been thinkin about putting a set of dana 44's from a scout II on my samurai, since they're just sitting in my yard rusting. i did some measuring and they are a pretty close match to the samis stock axles. seems like there is only a 7" width difference, rear spring pads are damn close if not the same width as the sami's. if i extend the wheelbase a few inches front and rear it should'nt cause to many drive angle problems if i use c.v.'s. would modified toyota driveshafts be adequate? has anyone done this with scout axles? would the weight affect performance. the danas in question have 4.10 gears. plan on runnin 33's/35's. but how big of tires could i go with these axles as a daily driver? what size tire on a sammy can the danas hold up to on a daily/crazy on the trail driver. could i jump with the them?!
