BIG public thanks to wildweasel
I spent a goodly portion of today with my near stock rig in the way-capable hands of Mr. Glenn "Wildweasel" Loud. I dropped by, ostensibly to pick up the parts for my 2" s/r, but that quickly turned into an installation. That went suprisingly well, due in large part to Wildweasel's knowledge, skill and tools. ALong the way we found occasion to replace a goofy metal tube in the cooling system which decided to start leaking out a rust hole when we started beating on the rig. We also managed to put some juice in my bone dry steering box and adjust out the slop, free up my sticky front brakes, adjust my clutch, fix my swing out back window not staying open, relocate my turn signals, trim my bumper, apply liberal doses of the BFH to the inner front fenderwell "seams", eat three hot dogs each and cuddle an adorable cocker spaniel puppy.
It feels like a new truck and it's darn amazing! I can't thank Wildweasel enough for what would have been about 3 months worth of labor for me trying to figure stuff out and do it with the wrong tools. It also put me right at the brink of passing tech inspection for Zookin 2K1, and that's a load off my mind.
