Speed-o Gear Removal-???

How do you removre the speedo gears from inside the t-case in order to pull the case apart completely.

Anyone know?? i got the whole case apart but the last output shaft (to the rear) will not come out untill i take the speedo gear out..

hey man, first ya gotta remove the speedo cable, sure you did that already though. remove the bolt completely that retains the speedo cable. there is a slip in *collar* that the speedo cable goes into right there. will have to take pliers n remove that *collar* then the speedo gears ""SHOULD"" fall right out.

Good luck, I have in the past had to heat up the casing a little to get it them out. Lube it with penetrating oil and let it sit.

I went out and gave (what i think is the the part you mentioned) but have had no luck so-far so i heated it and soaked the penitrating oil to her for the night.

All I did was remove that that bolt and use some needle nose plires and pull that thing right out. You will have to use some force but it will work. at least mine did and still working a year later.

thanks for the help guys. I got it removed late last night.

Lot's of Heat, Lots of penitrating oil, and lots of swearin'

But it did come out!!

Now it's time to get the new bearings monday!!!
