Mine is quiet. If you take a craftsman wrench and spin it around so it ratchets, it is quieter thatn that.. When I do uuies, I do not power through them, or if I do it is not on the gas, sorta idle through. I have yet to power through a turn.....
I am running the valvoline 85-90 or something like that. Pure synthetic. The stuff is 8 dollars a quart!!!!!!! Mine is very quiet, I do drive slower than grandma right now though. Once as I was taking off from a stop there was a loud chunk that came from the back end. I dunno what it was and it has only happened once?!!? I am very happy with the locker. It'll take some time to get used to tho.. Back end feels funny.
I have not gone on the freeway yet either. Max speed so far was 45 and not down/up shifting or lane changing... I'll continue to post new findings..

Re: From: Nowhere

The loud clunk was the locker engaging. Sometimes on the road they don't lock all the way and when they do if you have any speed going at all they make a very loud noise! It is nothing to worry about.

Re: From: Nowhere

Mine is loud when i turn. Like a real loud ratchet. Might be the side couplers i dont know. Ive had mine up to 70. Its real fun on the interstate, its never caused me to jump a lane or anything like that. Hard upshifts were fun with the 215's but now with the 29's it jus doesnt have the gearing to break em loose at speed but when i could it sure was fun.
