FSM\'s go through the roof!

Well, it is a sad day, just got the final word from Suzuki, their FSM's for the Samurai have gone up 50%. They claim their new printing company is responsible not them. All years are now over $90.00! If you have an FI vehicle, now it cost's $199.00 for the two manuals you would need. We are out of FSM's right now and have waited four weeks for Suzuki to give us the correct pricing. It is a shame as the alternatives are pretty sad.

That's bad, I'm on your list. I believe you talked to my wife last week about the FSM. Doesn't matter as I need one!

Re: FSM\'s go through the roof!

It will probably be only a matter of time till it goes out of print altogether.

My suggestion? A Scanner, Adobe .pdf and a CD. Completely underground. No traces. Word of mouth and hand to hand exchange only.

Who's got one and is up to the task?

Re: FSM\'s go through the roof!

Oh yeah, and if someone does want to start the "tape tree", PLEASE DON'T POST IN ON THE BBS OR EMAIL LIST. American Suzuki Corp. does watch this list and all others.

I'm not "big brother" paranoid. I found out recently. I posted an email on the GV list on Yahoo groups. I was actually praising the Suzuki rep for helping me with my service. I mentioned how he talked and how he fixed a broken seat part, even though I thought my G/F probably broke it. Anyhoot, he like the Calmini lift and we exchanged biz cards. I told him I would send him a t-shirt.

A few weeks later I called and left message for him as I wanted to know where to send the t-shirt. He called back and started explaining how Corp out in Brea, CA read the email and gave him a bunch of crap about the seat part he authorized, and that I said he said "Gnarly" about the lift. I was really bummed that that happened, when all I wanted to say was that he was an upright person and not what you expect from corporate.

What I did learn was they monitor EVERYTHING regarding Suzuki on the internet. The same goes for other large corps (i.e. IBM, GMC, MS, etc). Heck, the corporation I work for does the same, I found out.

Long story short, don't announce in a public form that you are doing this, instead contact those you trust by email and make the exchange. Then let them make exchanges to people they trust.

"I made a CD-FSM and gave it to two friends, who gave it to two friends, who gave it to two friends and so on, and so on..."
