gray T-case fluid

hey everyone,
Have any of you ever drained your t-case and had it come out Gray? I don't think it was metal because I have seen that and it is usally metalic looking. Is it maybe water? I never seen anything like it???

Re: gray T-case fluid

As the oil gets old it turns black. When you add water to this mix it turns gray. Seen it many times.
