Re: Diff. Breathers

I found 1/2" OD was good for the tranny breather and the tcase. To do the tranny, grip the breather with vice grips, obtain correct size drill bit that firs in the hole down the length of the breather and drill so theres a hole in the top. Then you can but the hose on witha hose clamp. (stock holes are on the side of the breather and would get plugged).

Re: Diff. Breathers

I went to home depot and bought some innexpensive 1/2" or so uv resistant flexy hose for like 10 bucks. Some good hose clamps and some good sealant and I've got a waterproof drivetrain (I've tested it very well too!!!!!)

Re: Diff. Breathers

Brian, i used 1/2" OD on all my breathers but the diffs were a pain to get on, I had to put the end in boiling water then force it on, it was very difficult, and they ended up breaking becuase of this. But for the tcase and trany this hose is perfect.

Re: Diff. Breathers

I need to do the rearends. I dont have a drain plug anymore in the rearend so i need to make sure no water gets in. As far as the rest go i change all the oil after ive been in deep stuff anyways. I can get bigger I.D. for the rearend. Should i get say 7/16 i.d. or would that be to big.

1/2" ID for the front and rear diff breathers, 1/2" OD for the tranny/tcase
