Re: resetting ck eng light on tracker

<font color=blue> Disconnect the battery and that should turn off the light. Unless there is a legitimate problem.

Or if you ignore it long enough the bulb will burn out.

Re: resetting ck eng light on tracker

I forget what year they changed but on my '93 I had to pull out the drivers side front speaker and the switch was on the right hand side of the speaker hole. Disconnecting the battery might not do it, it didn't work for me.

93 Tracker, ProComp, Calmini, 31's, Thorley, K&N, etc..., aka the donor. Looking for a donee..

Re: resetting ck eng light on tracker

they went to OBD II in 96 and I think they eliminated the switch (My 97 doesn't have one). You should be able to disconnect the battery for 5 minute or so (I've done that a couple of times on my 97 and it works). If you've got a problem, it will come back on pretty soon, but they're pre-programmed to come on at recomended service intervals, so you may not have any problems. I think the service intervals are PCV valve at 50,000, O2 sensor at 80,000, and ATF at 100,000.

Re: resetting ck eng light on tracker

Just re-read your post and realized you were at 80,000 miles, which means it wants a new O2 sensor. It doesn't know whether you change it or not, but it wouldn't be a bad idea (it's like $120 tho')
