Pic\'s of my Zuk, thanks SPUDZUKI

I got to meet SPUDZUKI the other day and we went out to the local ramp where I test the suspension. SPUDZUKI wanted to look at the zuk and see how it flexed. How I did my lift and how I got 35" Boggers under my rig. These are a few of the pic's the he took with his GREAT digi cam! I've got to say the RRO rear up front kit still makes me happy with how well it flex's. Well, here are a few pic's...

Brian,

Two words of advice on your modified drag link:
<font color=red>GUSSET IT!</font color=red>
I made one out of thick 4130 chromoly for a buddy of mine, and it basically looked just like yours .... until we took on Schoolbus at Tellico! Afterwards, it looked more like a pretezel. We straightened it out, and re-enforced each bend with a guesset & all is good again.

Fine lookin' rig - hope you aren't afraid to Use it

Regards,

Tim, yes I was going to gusset it but I've had it on the Zuk for about 2yrs now and have beat the hell out of it! When I was in Uwharrie last april it worked well on the rocks. The trails here (in town) aren't as hard as Uwharrie or Tellico but I have tried to bend it and it has held up fine. I might do that when I get done with my project that I'm working on now. The Toyota axles are ready to go in the new project Zuk. Here is a pic for ya... Thanks again for the info you gave me a long time ago!

....you know that axle is supposed to point the Other way, right?

Patrick was going Downhill, and had all the vehicle's weight on the front right when he bent that drag link. I didn't see it happen, but I think he was trying to push off of a Big rock and it was just too much pressure with the weight. (It bent the tie rod, too) It was a pretty extreme situation, but I just didn't want you to suffer the same fate by having false security.

See Ya,

Re: Pic\'s of my Zuk, thanks SPUDZUKI

You are VERY welcome for the pictures, I had a great time and learned a LOT....now to get back home and start wrenching, cutting and welding on mine!

I will start posting pics for you all once I get back and get my project underway again. Now with what I have seen of Zuk Jr.'s current one and his project rig (as well as his friends 350 powered beast...looked to be about 85% complete), I have a lot better ideas of what to do and which way I want to go with mine.

Wish I had met up with you just a week earlier though, I would love to have had a chance to meet Billy Bob when he was in town.

Oh well, enough rambling for now...

Re: Pic\'s of my Zuk, thanks SPUDZUKI

Man, I wish!! Not very likely that I will have mine 'done' that soon as well as trying to make it from the other side of the US.

Actually, living in Idaho, I figure my first big Zuki event will probably end up being Moab....assuming I can convince the wife, that is! All you married men will know what I mean about that one ;D

But, you never know where I may show up next. The Air Force seems to like sending me all over the world and as soon as I get mine built up a bit more, I will definitely be thinking, "Hmmm, wonder how the 'wheeling is down there?" from then on!
