Process for welding rear??????

Dose anyone know of a websight that describes how to weld your rear?

Do I have to remove the axles?

Will I need to replace any gaskets?

Basically what do I need to do to get ready, and then do this project?

Thanks

Re: Process for welding rear??????

you are going to have to pull the axles and remove the third member. takes about a hour if you are used to it. i have welded them by just welding the side gear through the banna shaped ports. and i welded perry's by opening the carrier and welding the one side gear and all 4 of the spiders. you just have to make sure you have it welded good. i like to use 7018 1/8" on a good d/c machine and burn it in pretty well. don't weld the front it wont steer for sh!t. don't ask how i know. mike
