I need help fast

I thought all i had to do was install the driveshaft. But nuthin could be that easy. The rear flange (the thing the driveshaft connects to) has smaller holes than the ones in my driveshaft. Can i jus take the one off my old center section and install in the center section im usin now or do i need to redrill. Also, if i can use the one off my old center section, what do i torque the pinion nut too? Any help greatly apprectiated.

Will,

Yes and yes.
You could drill holes for the new pattern or swap flanges.

Re: I need help fast

Zukinut we had a problem with different flanges and solved it by making a ring with the same holes as your flange which sits behind the new flange and acts as a clamp.
Then we took the existing holes in the new flange out to the edge of the flange (kinda like a slot) to allow the bolts to half fit in.
So then you have a ring which bolts to YOUR original flange.
And your new flange has slots so the bolts still make contact.Your new flange is in the middle of the old and the ring. And the clamping action is as strong as you could ask for.
Hope this makes sense.
Alfie.

You cant drill the holes out. At least not on mine. The flange is smaller that the one originally in my sami. Im gonna go try to change the flanges. Ill let you know what happens.

What should i torque this thing too?

Re: I need help fast

I slid my 94 slip joint off, and replaced with an 86, in the middle of the shaft, so I have 2 shafts with large flange on one end, and small on the other.
