Re: 1988 Sammi needs OEM Rear Driveshaft

Is it an early 88 with round style dash vents or a 88.5 with square style dash vents? I think they changed the driveshaft flanges on the 88.5 to the larger
14mm bolts!

Re: 1988 Sammi needs OEM Rear Driveshaft

I think you are off on that last post. I have a early 88 with square vents and they didn't change the flange style till a later year. I could be worng. But I am sure that I have an early 88 with square vents and the compartment in the center section of the dash.

So I was wrong about the bolt sizes! Could have sworn that I heard that they
the flanges in the 88.5 and newer Zuki's!

Re: 1988 Sammi needs OEM Rear Driveshaft

Lee,
1988 was a changeover year for the Samurai - there are two possible driveshaft flanges for your truck. Crawl under there & see if the bolts that hold your driveshaft in have 14mm or 12mm heads & we can see about helping you find a replacement. I probably have an extra of either style for you, but you might not need a whole driveshaft. What is wrong with yours?

Regards,

Re: 1988 Sammi needs OEM Rear Driveshaft

Hi JHS;

My early 1988 has the round vents... also, the rear driveshaft bolts are 12mm... the later ones from 1988.5 used 14mm bolts.
