What i learned at barnwell......

What I learned at barnwell....

never, EVER, turn your zook off in the middle of a trail... i turned mine off to go help some people in front of me, and thats the last time it was running... wouldnt start for anything, and still wont for that matter... we did figure out that there is no spark, but its not the coil... we narrowed it down to something in the distibutor... the ignitor perhaps?

anyhow, even though this was in the middle of the fist trail of the day at 10:15 in the morning, i still had an excellent time...

thanks to everyone for showing up and making it a good time for all... special thanks to mike (mike shannon), jbird (jbird), clyde (papa), and al (???? sorry al, i dont know you're bbs name) for everything they did for me... i hope we get to do it again sometime

ps. if anyone has any clues or spare parts they would like to donate to my "make my samurai run again so that one day i can do a WHOLE trail" campaign, let me know

Just happy you made it home ok. I'm confident you'll find the problem just before you slap your forehead with the open palm of the right hand and go "DUH !! THERE IT IS!!" Oh, buy the way, the performance problem we were discussing(no speed and really bad mileage) may be the result of a stopped up catcon.

Re: What i learned at barnwell......

yeah, im sure that once i start checking on this thing something will show up... for some reason i didnt even think of getting the manual out last night at camp to mess with it (i think i just didnt want to mess with my zook cause i was having too much fun shooting the sh#t with everyone) but i opened it up today and it shows how to test every part of the distributor, so hopefully that will show the problem... only problem is is that i wont be able to mess with it for at least a couple of weeks because school is starting up soon and im moving and all that stuff... oh well, ill get it eventually...

you may very well be right about that cat... im going to replace it when i get the new exhaust (gonna have to replace the muffler anyway before inspection so i figure i might as well get a whole new exhaust)... i was really impressed with the way everyone's sounded this weekend...

Re: What i learned at barnwell......

Sorry to hear about your Zuk.

You thanked me in your post but I don't know what I did. I didn't go to Barnwell! LOL

You must have me confused with someone else. Or someone is impersonating me. I was home all weekend and didn't go 4wheeling. Although I wish I did! Maybe I was there in spirit. : ^ )

Try reseating the connecters that go to the dist. I have seen that a few times.

Different Jbird. He's (unfortunately) not on this board. Helluva nice guy, and sports a sweet zook. Anyways, he was at Barnwell.
