rare or not so rare?

I bought an 86' zuke back in 1990 and it came with this really cool split factory backseat. It is twice as cushy as the regular factory rear bench seat and it allows you to remove one side or the other for a single seat on either side. I've never seen one other than mine and I was wondering if my seat is rare or not so rare? thanks

Re: rare or not so rare?

I bought a Special Edition just so I could take the back seat out and resell the car. I got the car for $800.00, took the seat out and resold the car for $980.00.

Not a bad deal, huh?

Re: rare or not so rare?

Always wondered what was so special about those special editions. Anything else neat in those? Like maybe a 2.9 v6 turbo with 4 speed + granny gear?

Re: rare or not so rare?

As a past owner of a Special edition, there are a few differences, the biggest being of course the back seat. There is an arm rest, very nice panels on the doors, a few emblems, decals and paint scheme. Oh and theres also a tachometer! I was going to take the tach and the seats, but I ended up selling the zuk to my brother and he wouldn't let me Oh well, my new one has A/C!

Re: rare or not so rare?

Yep, me too. I also had a SE and didn't realize what I had at the time, other than a really nice little Samurai. The SE's also had a moon roof in the soft top. Unfortunately, since mine had to sit outside during the winter, the cold temperatures did the poor thing in, and it cracked, so I replaced it with a regular soft top. I don't think that anyone made a replacement with the moon roof.
