carb questions

hi again,i noticed that the front barrel or port of my carb isn't opening.what would cause this and short of replacing it, how does one fix it???
do ya think this would explain my loss of power and bad gas mileage.........

that is the secondary, I dont believe that opens until the engine is under load, reving your engine in netral will not open it. Disconnect the diaphram hose that controls it and drive around and if it was working before you will have less power now.

If you also pull the hose off the carb side you will notice that the fitting that is on the carb only has a small hole in it. Drill it open and the secondary will open sooner and quicker. You will have better throtal response then you ever had. Good luck!
