Used T-Case

I am thinking of purchasing a used T-case off a guy and it has the calmini 12/83% lowering gear kit in it. It has also been modified to be able to have 2WD LOW. Is that bad for the T-case or not? I don't generaly like the idea of someone making modifications to gears in their garage. He bought it new in december. Is it worth 400, without waranty?

Re: Used T-Case

the 2 wheel low mod has nothing to do with the gears....it is either they took out one BB or modified the shift fork....or both to do it correct....

just make sure it has good bearings, gaskets and seals...check the oil...check the shift to make sure it shifts ok....should be a good deal if all is well.

Re: Used T-Case

The gears alone are worth $450, and worth every penny in my estimation (I have them). I also run the 2L option with a locked rear diff, and I love it, saves a lot of wear on the front drivetrain linkage. 400 for a t-case that already has these mods is a steal. Snag it before someone else does!
