Cheap R&P Swap????

I was told that sidekicks, or at least some of them, come with 4.11's in them stock that can be used in a samurai. Is this true? If not is there some other vehicle out there that comes stock with usable lower R&P's than a samurai?

4.62 in the autos and 5.13s in the man. Sidekick and Trackers but the fronts only so you need 2 fronts

Re: Cheap R&P Swap????

So I would get two front sets from a sidekick or tracker, manual or aut depending how low I want to go and install them in my front and back?

Re: Cheap R&P Swap????

You will need two front kick diffs. Remove the R&P's and install in the Sami housings. You will need a basic install kit as well as a carrier can and bearing spacer. http://www.spidertrax.com has all these items and at a fair cost.

Re: Cheap R&P Swap????

OK I have found a set of axles but I have to buy the two entire front ends for 300. Do you guys think it would be possible for me to make any money back by selling the rest of the stuff online? Do tracker axles/axle housings sell online or otherwise? Or am I going to get stuck with the leftovers that aren't going to do me any good?

Re: Cheap R&P Swap????

you would be better off buying a set of gears from tim at northcoast. you can't hardly give away the sidekick front left overs. if you can pick up some pumpkins for about 75 apiece of cheaper it worth it to go that route. other wise just get the gears from tim. they dont require a spacer or a can to hold the pins in later mike

Re: Cheap R&P Swap????

Why do you need to have a spacer? A friend of mine just installed a samurai carrier into a sidekick aluminum housing with 5.12's. he could ajust the rings on the side so the backlash is correct.

Re: Cheap R&P Swap????

Actually the tracker off road market is becoming ever more vigulent and i believe that you could get a few dollars for them. Kerry Wittig whom i wheeled with at paragon will buy the casings for 50$ generally and their are many more out there that are building up sidekick/ trackers. You could make some money back, but i wouldnt venture to say how immediate it would be.

Max,

Do you have Kerry's #? I need to contact him regarding Zookin and some spare parts I have for him. You can email me the #.

I also want to tell him to track down a v6 front axle, they are cast iron not soda can.
