Transmissions

Another question. Did any of the 1.3 zuks come with a automatic tranny or were they all manual shift?

Re: Transmissions

None of the Samurais that were sold to the US have automatics. Also I haven't seen them in European/Middle East Samurais either so I don't think that they were ever produced by Suzuki. An auto tranny would have sucked too much power from the already gutless 1300.

BTW, the updated "Samurai, the Jimny, is available with a 4 speed auto.

Re: Transmissions

A Tracker 2wd AUTO fits in the Sammy, but of corse you will ned to drop in the 1.6 as well. I just dropped one in the 87 hardtop I am restoring. It won't be much of a rock crawler, but she'll cruise on the highway with 31" tires and stock gearing. It will mainly be a daily driver. Attached pic.

Re: Transmissions

I'v seen the rig aftermarket2 is working on. It's gonna be a real sweet ride! The auto tranny (w/ a little more HP) might make for a good muddin' machine.
