Lost one of my best friends.....

I took my friend for his last ride in my Samurai this evening. The only thing worse than losing your friend is to have to bury him. He was hit by a car, the people felt so bad that the driver's mother was trying to give him mouth to mouth to help him hang on...to no avail...
And I was hoping to make a good trail ride dog out of him...

As the owner of two very loved dogs, I feel your pain. I'll be a basket case when the time comes to say goodbye to either of them. Hang in there Smitty.

Re: Lost one of my best friends.....

I hate to hear that man.

I had to give mine up for adoption. After 4 years the pointer/pit bull mix decided she would act like a pit bull for the first time. She went after one of the cats and a neighbors dog but i was afraid she might go after one of my sisters so i put her up for adoption.

Re: Lost one of my best friends.....

Smitty, I am sorry for your loss. People who aren't animal lovers (yes they exist)can't understand that it's like losing one of your children.
I have two Jack Russell Terriers and they love my Zook my MTB and My XR200. So I have to be careful cos they will chase out in front of a Zook if they think it's me.
When I was fit my JRT came out with me MTBing everytime.
You get so close, I guess you know what I mean.
Sorry,
Alfie.

Re: Lost one of my best friends.....

Sorry to hear that. It's been several months now since my trail buddy passed on. I sure do miss him. Sometimes when I come home from work, I start to look around, expecting to see him running up for a ride, then I remember.
Time heals the wounds, but I'll never forget my dog, Rusty.
