spoked bronco wheels

I saw recently here that someone had a set of spoked Bronco wheels on their ride.

Anybody know if those wheels needed to have the hub hole ground down to fit a sammy?

Or should I just go out and BUY a set of wider rims designed FOR a Samurai???

Re: spoked bronco wheels

They should fit, but nice snazzy chrome mods from petroworks are only like $50 a pop. see pic. they are a 15/8 with a 2 1/4" offset giving you a 3" wider stance

Re: spoked bronco wheels

You say the wheels have a 2 1/4" offset giving a 3" wider stance.
Is this a likely reason so many people experience odd handling ?

The centre of the tyre contact will be way outside of the intended contact area (Kingpins, camber and all that stuff,
can't recall all the technical jargon)

Any thoughts ? I realise it's a necessary evil to fit heeooge rubber on, but are people paying for it in their handling ?

Alfie.

Re: spoked bronco wheels

I ended up going with the Petroworks 15x8 2.75bs black wagon wheels for $45 each.

Not one bit. It handles the same if not better. It is a little bad on the Bearings though but not much.
