1.3 EFI timing adjustment???

New truck, new question
Silly little thing: before attempting the timing adjustment on the EFI engines, you suppose to disable the electronically controlled timing advance. It's usually a little plug somewhere in the harness that comes out or something needs to be grounded, you have the idea. My Suzuki Chilton says to connect two of the four pins in the "controller connector" that supposed to be located "near the r/h side headlight". Yeah right. I couldn't find anything even remotely similar to it in the whole engine bay....it's gotta be somewhere else, but where????? Anyone was lucky enough to find it? Please share the secret with me

BTW, it's an '92

Re: 1.3 EFI timing adjustment???

Check on the psgr side firewall, near top over battery, mine (91 FI) has a small white connector with black rubber cover. I took a small piece of 18ga (I think) wire and made a "U". Hope this helps.

Re: 1.3 EFI timing adjustment???

Yeah, I've noticed that little devil too (with black rubbery 'dead_end'), but it's three pin in-line type instead of four "in_square".....and even the sticker under the hood says to connect "two of four" pins on the "square" plug....bloody hell confusing.
Anyway Gadzooks, is yours little plug three_pin too?? If so, which pins did you connect???

Re: 1.3 EFI timing adjustment???

Nope, mine is 4 pin. As you look at it, there is a small square part that sticks up on the top. I connected the jumper at the bottom two (it even shows a picture of the connector on the tune-up/emissions sticker under the hood). Sorry for the out of focus picture, but no light outside so I just aimed and shot!

Re: 1.3 EFI timing adjustment???

Hey, thx for the pics !!!
Lemme double check under the hood again...all I know is that the harness has been butchered by the previous owner (BIG STEREO_type) . Ooooh, mighty Suzuki Gods, please paralyze his hands

I'll let you know.

Thx again
