16V motor

When doing the 16V conversion does the block have the same bolt pattern for the tranny as the 8V 1.6ltr motors? I'm just curious if the conversion for the block is the same as the 1600cc motor. Same clutch setup, etc.

Does the computer/harness really need to be modified or can you just use it the way it came from the donor vehicle? Also with the F.I. will the fuel lines and pump need to be converted over for fuel injection?
I have read and heard some say the fire wall needs to be modified so the distributor will fit.... how much of the fire really needs to be modified to make room for the distributor. Is it an electronic type distributor? Sealed?

So after all is said and done does the 16V really make that much more power over an 1600cc 8V conversion or a modified 1300cc with the dual side drafts, header, etc.

I think it would be a good idea to look at the engine options post it has all the information you need.

jhs has good suggestion man. but if your dead set on 16v swap info specifically, get in touch with robzuk, hes got the 16v in his rig. havent drove it personally but i believe he said max has. its sweeeet.

The bolt pattern is the same but the clutch is bigger in the 16 valve
