Re: still not crankin!!!

yah my dad decided to take like 30 minutes out of his day to work on the fried head that I told him was fried!!! So today we went and bought a KOSS stereo and 2 6*9 jensens (180 watts!) and I will use that cause i do not want to use my 6 disc now cause of the power it would take up so I just went and bought a CD player! but if I ever do plan to put woofers in I will just bridge the heads wattage and bridge the amp for the woofers!!! this one we just bought to day is all plugs!! what a relief just to plug it all in instead of hot wirin everything so it will be nice to be workin with some newer technology!!!

Re: still not crankin!!!

Hey Billy, just an FYI bro, you can probably bridge the amp just fine, but I wouldn't bridge the deck at all. even if it's rated bridgable, it'll get real hot and stuff will start melting (like CD's and junk). your best bet for the cleanest sound is to NOT use the head unit's wattage at all and wire all your speakers to the amp. even if the deck has high power it is not very clean (something like .08 - .1 thd). like i said, just FYI.

Re: still not crankin!!!

yah the circuit city guy was not recommending it either!! I was thinking I could custom bridge my amp to were it would be 140+140+280?? but that would really have to come into thought and I really have not talked to anybody about it now all I did today was watch the zeros in my bank account drop!!! LOL

Re: still not crankin!!!

well, if you get decent speakers you wont need all that power. just remember the more power your getting out of your amp the power it's drawing from it's source (read your battery). and the lower you bridge your amp the higher the distortion level's go. just get some nice quality speakers and a good sealed or bandpass box and you wont need the power.
