The facts:

Ok, here is the harbor freight one.. Also it is made in china.. 1 year warranty is an extra 50 bux.. 90 day stock.
1.8 HP
8000 lb. rated line pull
Gear ratio: 210:1
Amp draw at full load: 280
Includes hawes fairlead
Cable: 94 ft. x 5/16''
Warn winch:X8000i
435 amps
Pull by layer: 1/8000Lb
216:1
4.8 hp, Series Wound
100', 5/16" diameter (30m, 8mm diameter
The 6000 series is about the same, a little different on the gear raito and some other misc stuff..
Here is the superwinch 4500:
Rated Line Pull: 4,500 lb
Stall Load: 5,100 lb
Motor: 1.6 hp
Gearing: Differential Planetary. Gear Ratio: 159:1
Wire Rope: 1/4" x 50
It looks like this is about a 5~7000 lb winch.. The guy I talked to sounded like a dumbarse.. I dunno. The total cost for everything with all the goodies (1 year it breaks, we replace it for nothing, roller fairlead) is aboug 425.00
warn is about 700, superwinch is about 650 ish, I dunno, looks like a good deal to me!

you must check this site out!!!!!!! Awesome winch information!!! http://home.gci.net/~trey/cable.html

Re: The facts:

Don't want to be negative here but it has been posted that some of the Harbor Freight winches are not very good. I guess the complaints were the gears break. Do an archive search and see what you come up with. Jim
