What can the zuk transfercase handle??

Hi Guys,

How much power and torque do you think the zuk transfercase can handle??

Some people run them behind V6's, yet I have friends who have broken them with nearly stock 1300's.

Thanks,

Zooky Matt

Re: What can the zuk transfercase handle??

BB is right, I'm going to keep my stock t-case in the Zuk when I do my 4.3L conversion. But, have to take it easy on the gas!

Re: What can the zuk transfercase handle??

Did they break gears? Or the case housing? Because there are mounting systems out now that reinforce the tcase housing (like ours:^) .

with BB on this cause if you are a throttle happy driver then anything can break at anytime, you would just make it more liable!

Re: What can the zuk transfercase handle??

My driver side mount let go and took the side out of my new 4:16 t-case,so I built some better mounts, but I would like the wrap around for better strength.RR

Re: What can the zuk transfercase handle??

The broken transfercases that I have seen include:
-one where the gears let go, lost teeth and made a real mess
-two others that had cracks near the mount for the long arm
