doorless hinge..

Well we tackled the doorless hinge thing today.. see attatchment! and boy was it an adventure from the get go. First we work our buts off just cuttin the hinge peice off...then we battled the rest of the hinge and how that bar on the other side of the hinge has to be trimmed down enough to were it slides in and out easy yet holds the door on as well!! All in all we did it to one side and will tackle the other side tommorrow...I hope we want to!!

Re: doorless hinge..

What are you using to cut it with. I used a dremel and had all four hinges cut and trimmed in about 2 hours time.

Re: doorless hinge..

You got to get something that will spin way fast than a drill motor. A dremel will work fine , you just go thru a lot of those cutting disk. an air die grinder works too

Re: doorless hinge..

I drilled my door screws out. It took me maybe a half an hour for all 8. I then bought some stainless steel hardware and installed the doors back on. I can take them off with an allen wrench. They're not as easy to take off and get on but I don't care much for the cut hinge idea.
