Here's a cheaper alternative to the Mega-Flow unit.......

yah that is a home made one just like I was dreamin of doin like 2 months agos but....I hope you do not do a lot of deep water fordin'!

I was at Pep Boys today and seen a cheap alternative to the K&N filter like that. It was only 24.99 compared to 40.00 plus. The element look just like my K&N all the way down to the purple oil. They had a plus they had painted frames around them. They actually looked cool.

Nice set-up however, with the filter being so low, you now have the same problem that I have with my side draft Mikuni's. The side draft air filters go as low as 8" below the top of the valve cover - about the middle of the grill. If you do any water crossings you have to be very careful about gulping any water. Ask Glenn Wakefield about the dreaded water gulping side drafts! He destroyed an engine this way.
