Rusted rocker panels

In my world, road salt is a part of life...I have noticed Samurais and rust don't mix well. Anyone know of replacement rocker panels that are available?

Re: Rusted rocker panels

You can make some out of angle iron cheap. I bought diamond plate rocker panels from Calmini...see attachment.

The dealer sells them. I think that they are about $100 each side.

Re: Rusted rocker panels

RangerRick has some awesome rockers on his Sami from Hardcore 4x4. If he dosen't happen to read this post, i'd e-mail him and ask him about them.

Re: Rusted rocker panels

WE also have the calmini Diamond plate rocker panel covers...the biggest problem with them is the rivets that they send along with them do not hold well. After painfully trying to attach them to one side of the truck, the girl me came out and I asked how come we don't use some self-taping screws on these instead?? Well, we did just that and they work really well. BUT the ones that RR has on his truck from HARDCORE 4X4 are very nice!!! Anything made by Tim Porter is worth investing in.

Re: Rusted rocker panels

Either cover them up with diamond plate http://www.rocky-road.com/zukarmor.html

Or just cut them out altogether.

Re: Rusted rocker panels

Bill, you are such a tease!!! Hey any news on the price tag of your t-case bucket? I haven't seen a post about it since the last one. That would be cool if you started manufacturing some zuk stuff. You are nice and close to me so I wouldn't have to worry about shipping. hehe
