Got a new sami

Hey all, just wanted to show off my new rig. Here is a picture of it .
It has 16k on a new crate motor, spring over, rear lock right, and pumpkin caps. Not a bad starting point if you ask me. Unfortunately I had to trade my old one for it, but I think it was worth it in the long run.
BTW, does anyone have some front turn signals they could part with? Preferably with the plug on them.
Woo Hoo,
Steve

Re: Got a new sami

Thanks guys, I like it alot. Not a spot of rust on it, but could use paint. Not that I'm gonna paint it, why bother right!?.
It's funny you mention the clutch tranny thing Jim. This one has the same problem. Prolly gonna crawl under there tonight and give the adjuster a few turns and see what happens. Can't wait to get my 5.12's and front locker installed. Then all I need is some 31's and a GRS1 and I'm good to go. That is until the next thing I want/need

Re: Got a new sami

I use a little 70 watt arc welder. I have used it on support brackets for the clutch cable, alt, but not on anything that takes the kind of abuse the spring perches would take. I'm weld-challenged though, maybe it is strong enough?

Re: Got a new sami

Don't waste your money. the smallest you should get is
200amp for an AC buzzbox with a decent duty cycle.
The cheap models can only be run for short periods.
If you keep and eye out in want-ads you will often see them for sale. Or a low cost mig- like a lincoln 110 weldpack with the Gas option. Some people like just wirefeed, but frankly once you go mig you never go back.

Re: Got a new sami

Zukiguy, what do you want for the turn signals and when can I get them? Unfortunately this is my daily for the next couple weeks until I can get the water pump on my XJ fixed. Lemme know, I sure would appreciate it.
