Winch wiring

I believe someone once posted that if your running a battery with both side and top terminals that you should use the same terminals for the winch that you use for the starter or else the battery could be damaged. Does this ring any bells eith anyone? I tried to do a search and came up empty handed.

Re: Winch wiring

Battery manufacturers do not recommend using the side posts for heavy draw applications. You remembered correct. Don't use them for your winch or you could burn up solenoids.
