right exhaust pipe??

someone was tellin me about how you need a certain size piping on your exhaust to have the correct backflow cause othrewise you will lose power in the long run. I use a 2 1/4" piping right now?? is this a good size??

Re: right exhaust pipe??

I am using 2" from the cat to the muffler and 2 1/4" from the muffler back.
Seems to work good!

Re: right exhaust pipe??

If you beat yourself about the head and shoulders, with that size pipe, it probably will hurt you.

Re: right exhaust pipe??

Nah!

2.25 is okay.

I understand that running with nothing is not good and will get you a ticket, though.

Something to do with way too little backpressure and no way for exhaust heat to be dissipated resulting in extreme heating on the exhaust side of the head... Your aluminum head...

I've been 2.25 all the way to the back for almost two years now! (pay no attention to the fact that I had to rebuild my engine! It was suffering from classic Samurai burnout...)
