First oil change...
Did the first oil change on the rebuilt engine today...
525 miles, dark but not lumpy!
Changed the oil pressure sender and cleaned the spade connector -- no oil light during idle!
While changing the oil, I noticed that I used bolts instead of the studs where the oil pump and the oil pan meet. What good fortune! Now I don't have to go through huge amounts of disassembly to get the oil pump off! Simply remove all the bolts, break the seal on the oil pan, and slide it off!
Why am I so concerned about this?
It's a new pump.
During assembly, the engine fell off the stand and landed on the pump...
