Cam Seal Question

I've got the front of my engine pulled apart. I'm still looking for my over-heating problem. I'm going to replace the cam seal while everything is apart.

The little metal cover that is over the seal has (oops I mean had) a cork gasket between it and the head. Where can I find one of those cork gaskets or can I just RVT it?

Attached is the picture of the metal cover I'm talking about. The cork gasket was on the back of it.

Re: Cam Seal Question

It's only a dust cover - RTV = cool.

Re: Cam Seal Question

Jay, I think it is used as a dust cover and a anti rattle devise. I do not think that RTV would cause any problems. Go for it.

Eric

Turn it till it breaks, then back off 1/4 turn
