Exhuast fumes??

I have a 2" cat back exhuast that exits straight out the rear of my Sami right next to the drivers side spring hanger. I was wondering if anyone else gets a lot of exhuast fumes in the cab of thier Zuki? My wifes always complains about this. I was thinking on bending another tailpipe that would either exit under the Zuk, about 3 inches from the muffler or a tailpipe in the stock location pointing downward towards the ground.

Re: Exhuast fumes??

I had a cherry bomb that ended half-way and other-wise then some noise it did give off exhaust....anywho I also went through a blown exhaust donut and that will make you loose power and put some fumes in the cab but that is only if you have a stock header!

Re: Exhuast fumes??

I've read many times that the exhaust shold be put in the stock location. This seems like the only way to avoid the fumes. Jim

Re: Exhuast fumes??

I had the same problem,I installed a turned down tip even with the outside of the bumper. This helped out quite a bit.

Yes you are going to have fumes in the cab. It is a common complait from what I have seen and heard. Also if it smells really bad it is probably time for a new cat. The best thing to do to get rid of the fumes is get a hard top like me.HAHAHA lol.

Yep, it needs to bend out like stock. I cut mine to make room for M/L's but since diching that setup I'm going to put it back like it was.

Re: Exhuast fumes??

Even with a down turn on the end of the exhaust it smells in the cab if the sides are up on my softtop. I will
probley add a stock style bend back onto the weasel after the Melt.

Re: Exhuast fumes??

The air rushing around your zukis are kicking the exhaust into the cab. Turning the exhaust down will not help. The best thing to do is rout it to the rear corner. It's a common complaint with any topless vehicle. Even routing to the corner isn't a 100% fix, but it'll prevent a great amount of it....

Re: Exhuast fumes??

That's what I had done and my wife said that it is a 100% better now. The only problem
is that the guy who did the exhaust for me routed the tailpipe between the spring and the
frame, so I guess he is going to have to redo it this week.
