driving time??

Well I just got a deal I had to settle on in melbourne the only worry is...I will have 9hrs of highway time on my zuk, she runs good and has always got oil changes every 3k miles but she is up to 145k now.. I know the engines are very re-liable but are they this re-liable?? I am just about to put a header on it to??!!

Re: driving time??

I have (and this is no Joke) 265000+ miles on my stock 1300. I have driven it full of camp gear, parts, tools, and my wife, five hours up and down hills in 85 degree weather. I had not even the slightest problem.

Re: driving time??

One of the reasons I stuck with my Sam is the reliability factor. I've known several stockers to go 400,000+. As long as they are treated right. I've got a buddy pushing 600k on his tranny, and he's only had to replace front and rear seals.

Then there's me. I've put about 6k miles on my first 3 1.3's and destroyed each of them. Those weren't highway miles though.

Thanks for the engine Cori! Just got it rebored, it goes in tonight. It WAS an original engine, never bored until this weekend. Now it's 40 over. We'll trail this weekend.

Re: driving time??

mxnhid has driven across country in his stocker (that he might have paid as high as $300 for), and at speeds that are illegal in every state and most foreign countries. Then again, no one said he was normal, or sane for that matter. Jump in it and drive, 9 hours is nothing, just check the fluids before leaving.
