GM alternator ??

Will the pulley of a zook (micro v) fit on a GM alternator?

Re: GM alternator ??

I had to put mine on a lathe and slightly enlarge the bolt hole.

Re: GM alternator ??

I have the Petroworks bracket, alternator, and wire thing, I am not going back with it on mine so it is just lying around. I have to put a new bearing in the back of it (have bearing) it's about a year old. Someone send me a GOOD stock alternator, their stock bracket and $75 and I will replace the bearing in this 105 GM unit, and ship the whole thing shipping included. The bearing went out because it had a fiber shield on it, not the plastic shield like the good bearings have, it (the fiber shield) fell off, and the balls didn't last to long after that!

Re: GM alternator ??

Yep, my belt actually lined up good. I had to make a new top adjustment bracket. The stock one broke 2 times. I also relocated my lower radiator hose mount lower. Also, the bolts that hold the alt. to the adjusting bracket have broke a few times, and the ones that go into the block like to come loose so watch them.
*** MAKE SURE TO DRILL OUT the bottom hole on your new bracket to the same diameter as the one in the delco alt. where the mounting bolt goes through or it will wiggle back and forth, making bad belt angles. This conversion has been a nightmare so far, very unreliable, but this is just my experience.

Re: GM alternator ??

I used a later model alternator that came with a micro-V pully, it has 1 extra groove though. I made my own bracket also. I had to move my passenger side motor mount back some so the alt would fit, its 108 amps and I think it is a little bigger
