Hey Psf4x4,

Where are you located in Atlanta? I'm in Newnan at 770-304-1377. I'd like to see your rig sometime.

Later,

Re: need good pics of dana 44 swap please!

bill, i live in springtown (just west of ft worth) i helped psf4x4 swap in his dana44's with wrangler spoa and i have a buddy out here that is getting ready to do the same. if you wanted, when we are done with his you could come out and take a look. i could even show you how with the stock axles in place. he has already ripped all his stock susp and axles out from under his zuk and it sits waiting. just a thought. if you have any q's let me know.

Re: need good pics of dana 44 swap please!

how cheap? well it all depends on if you buy the gears new, who sets them up, whick lockers etc. i just set up my first set of gears about 5 months ago when i swapped in my 1ton axles. it really isn't too hard. the key is have your old carrier berings pulled off and then have the centers honed out so they will slip onto the carrier. you can then use these bearings for the set up. it makes shimming alot easier not to have the bearings pressed off every time you want to change your shims. once you get your backlash set correctly you have new bearings pressed on with the correct shims behind them.

you should go with gears in the 5.xx range and i sugguest putting a spool in the rear. they are cheap and strong. $189 from randy's r&p. a full detroit is $500 and a e-z is $229 plus you have to get a new carrier for the 5.xx gears. we put 5.38's with a full spool in the rear and a lockright in the front of psf4x4's rig.
