Rebuild Question?

This Question is for my brother. He needs to freshen up his motor. It is now burning up to 2 Quarts of oil a week. Who sells the best quality rebuild kit for the money?

Re: Rebuild Question?

Well I am happy with the stuff I got from Hawk, Pistons-
etc.. Not so happy with a few of the seals, Some weeping
from 2 months on... They shipped when They said they would
and helped fix it after UPS munged up the shipping on me.
I need to do a bottom end on one of my other trucks, I will
most likly order from them again. If NCO sold rebuilds I would go with him too. (For all I know he does..)

Re: Rebuild Question?

Well I am about to buy one from RRO and they sell theres for 300 bucks and that is the cheapest I have found for all the stuff that comes with it, you can even run a bore(.02,.03,.04) so you can get some extra juice!

Re: Rebuild Question?

Im pressing this hardcore, so dont mind my 10 cents. If its the cheapest rebuild and its 300$ why not spend 450 and get a 1.6liter fuel injected engine that doesnt need to be rebuilt? More power less headache,

Re: Rebuild Question?

Max,
I was thinking about the 1.6 liter, But the cost of that plus the kit is a little steep. Plus this is for my brother and I don't want his zook to be better than mine Do you still have any power steering set ups? I might be interested in one of those, either that or I need a bigger steering wheel!

Re: Rebuild Question?

Jeff, the adapter kit is 150$ at trail tough and you could splice the wiring yourself. You should help your brother build a better rig, that way you guys help each other out without fail on the trail.

Studbilly, i dont refurbish engines. There are only 24 hours in a day so that leaves no time to go crazy. I dont sell junk though either, not worth it to go down that road. No my engines dont come with power steering or a diamond necklace for all that matter either, unless of course you want to buy a whole rig to strip out the engine and power steering from anyway. That way you get the seats and r/p's too. I could sell a whole rig 1100$ so you get the gearing - steering - engine - and seats plus whatever else, like ecm and harness. To me thats the cheapest way to go, but holding onto that much money at one time is tough.....
