Top snaps

I finally got a top for my sami. But i dont have the right snaps anymore. When i made the slant back i took the old factory style "pole" snaps off the tailgate. I was wondering if anybody would happen to have a parts sami that has these and doesnt need them. I would be more than happy to buy them as you can no longer get them thru suzuki.

Re: Top snaps

Not true, I just got some in my last order, they are $2.25 each. If you need the little seal that goes under it, they will be in this week. Also have the threaded body snaps, and all the top bow hardware as well in stock.

Re: Top snaps

The type of clips you are referring to I take it are the ones on the rear tail gate? They are commonly called "lift the dot" clips. Any good auto trimming supply store should be able to supply you with these. There are also specialised "clip and fastener" type stores that also stock this item.

you can purchase the "pole" on it's own or you can get them to supply the two-piece clip which attaches to the tournea cover.

The other style clips are "press studs" you can purchase these at the same type of stores. They can be sold as the outer clip (which attaches to the tournea, but you will need a special press which normally costs only a tiny bit more) or you can buy the part which pop-rivets to the vehicles body.

both style of clips and associated parts are very very cheap. I bought three sets as I somehow always manage to damage them on the trail. (I'm in australia)

have a look through your phone directory for those types of stores and make a few calls.

Re: Top snaps

Thoes lift the dot snaps and 'pole' things, i found at Revy or Home Depot, i forget which one. I was VERY suprised to find them there, they had them in the Fasteners section, where you pull out the little trays and grab as many as you need. If i remember right theere around 1 dollar canadian each for the snaps and similar price for the poles. They also had all the other snaps for the Samurai soft tops. Maybe ill finish that soft top i was making over a year ago..
