Fiberglass is good at some solutions BUT during off-road springs will take
impacts. When top coat layer is broken fiberglass will absorb water to
it and after that ciberglass is VERY fragile. Also cracks caused by hits of rocks will
weak springs dramatically even alone (broken fibers).

That's what one thermosetting plastic guru told me.

On-road and heavy truck solutions glassfiber springs are used looong time.

I think Tessal just about said it all, except I bet they would be real flexable and they probably next loose their arc or 'S' over time like steel springs.
