Weber: steel or Viton needle & seat

Does anyone know what the difference is between the steel needle & seat as compared to the Viton one?
Speaking of needle and seats, how does varying it's size effect carb function and fuel level in the bowl? I'm hell bent on stopping my Weber from weeping and have replaced the needle & seat (.200) with a .175. Haven't noticed any diffenence so far.....
I'm starting to overcome my concept block on how Webers operate, thanks to George Beardon. Thanks George, if you're out there.....

Does it work better than the steel n&S? I've got one of those books and yes, there is ton's of info. I've learned alot and the Weber is really coming around and running well. Maybe I can't leave well enough alone.....Thanks....

Re: Weber: steel or Viton needle & seat

The Viton needle and seat is esentially rubber. Its a special kind that resists gas. It just adds the little extra bit of sealing power if you happen to be running higher fuel pressures than what Weber recommends for its carbs. I have one in mine, and havent had a problem.
