suspension lift question

Alrighty, If i have a 2" suspension lift kit (leaf spring suspension - 1991 Suzuki Samurai model) can i utilise my stock springs when i change them over or will they just collect dust in the shed? What i mean is, can i use the stock springs which are currently on my zook to gain more lift by adding them to my new suspension lift kit in any way?

Dad, what does this thing do???.....Ooops!

Re: suspension lift question

You could but at the cost of a very stiff ride.

Re: suspension lift question

You're gonna have to give us some more details. What does this "kit" consist of? Give us a description of the parts or something we can go by to answer your question. I assume by your note you are saying you got 2" taller springs off of a 91 Samurai. If that is the case then your old springs won't really be of any use to you once you install the new ones.

Re: suspension lift question

Well, adding the extra leafs into the pack will add some lift (thickness of springs), but it won't "spring up" and you'll have very stiff ride!
If you want just a bit more lift than the 2" leaves add, then look into getting a slightly longer (not more than 2 inches) shackle.

Re: suspension lift question

Make buggy-leafs out of 'em! Worked wonders for me!
