Re: Trade 4.62\'s for 1984 baby lobster t-case

I've got a baby lobster back at the house. I pulled it out of a SJ410. The case is identical to the samurais but I haven't checked the flange nuts (Anton says 26mm is the size for the 4.16 buildable parts). I'll check tonight and let you know.

Re: Trade 4.62\'s for 1984 baby lobster t-case

I just checked it-it has 27mm flange nuts and a 1.6 ratio in high range-don't have an extra shifter to shift it into low range.

FYI, I personally pulled this out of a German SJ410 but I don't what year it was. I don't buy what Anton was saying about it being a "one year only" transfer case. I always heard that the SJ410 "baby lobster" was 84-up, that is until the introduction of the Samurai/1300cc engine. I was also told that the earlier style transfer cases (83 and earlier) look completely different-that's what Rick Hawk said, but then again, he runs probably the biggest NA Suzuki salvage yard so (sic) what does he know. 8-)

I also bought a "baby lobster" SJ410 transfer case from Wayne Parent and it looked identical (Samurai case with small flange pattern, drum brake) to this one before I converted it to the 4.16 case. I bought this transfer case because it was a good deal and I could always make it into a GRSI for about $150 and some elbow grease. It has been sitting in my attic for the past two years.

After checking your background info, I realized your located in Canada. 8-( I'm a US soldier stationed in Germany and I don't think I can ship this thing to you without some big shipping charges/tariffs. 8-( Any takers stateside?

You're in Canada and you can't find one of these? I thought there was an old Suzuki sitting in everyone's backyard, ay?
