Roll Cage Ideas

Im Looking for a cheap way to make a sort of roll cage for my truck, using the stock roll bar. I want it to look good (with the doors off, no targa, fold down windsheild) and have some function as roll protection. Any ideas/pictures would be appriciated.

Re: Roll Cage Ideas

Both lav25 and myself are in the process of building cages. I think lav25 bought the Trail Tough front section and we are going to build the back half. I will send you pictures when they are complete.

Re: Roll Cage Ideas

Anton,
If you have access to a bender do it yourself, It's a lot of time(read trial and error). You will come out a head! I think my cage cost me about $200 total ie mig wire and everything. I did a tread on this awhile ago. but you can see what I did on my site.
Oh to answer you ??'s about my tools. Mig,4" angle grinder (a lot Of disc's!) files, and my old trusty hacksaw.
I had access to a bender ,metal brakes(never used them though), and another thing I can't remember the name of right now...dam I'm getting old!

Re: Roll Cage Ideas

I messed up about 3 times I think. With the bender I was using I went 37 inch's for the top frame. 15 down from that and over 1/2 inch to rotate the tube into the cab. to be honest Anton I don't want to do it again!.....but prob will someday!

Re: Roll Cage Ideas

I found a place called cachchassisworks.com surfing, they had prices for a 14 pt cage less than 300.00,there were also some forms you could download that tells you where to take all the measurements needed for whatever type cage you wanted mmeasure up fill out the form and they'd quote a price.I think they cut everything to fit but you have to weld it though, not completely sure though.

Drive it like you stole it!!!
