How do I remove a draglink?

I have a spare axle that I want to remove the draglink from. I got the bolt out but the link seems to be presses on or something. Can anyone tell me how to remove this without damaging the threads and without cutting?

Thanks!

about 1/2 hour bashing the @#[email protected]#&(&*([email protected]#&%(&%@#! out of it with a good hammer.. I guess if you had a vice or something. These things are a pain to get off. But it is kinna good that they stay in place.. <G>

Re: How do I remove a draglink?

I just pulled mine off yesterday. Had to use a pickle fork, it looks like a big tuning fork. Got mine a Track Auto years ago (they are made for removing these kinds of joints). A couple wacks of from a hammer and it pops off.
Pauly, I pulled my axles last weekend, gonna get the spring perches welded on this week. By this weekend I should be fully lifted!!

I know what you are talking about! I've seen them but never knew what they were for. I'll see if I can borrow one from my mechanic.

Congrats on the lift! Have you completed the whole engine/tranny conversion? I'd be interested in seeing it when it's done.

Re: How do I remove a draglink?

Its stuck on there becuase the hole is tapered. To get it out use a big hammer and hammer on the pitman arm, on the side, it should come out easily.
