Need Help FAST!!!

Im having more of these dumb electrical troubles with my zuk. It was fine for a while today, then the lights started getting really dim, the zuk stalled.. when we got home it stalled again and this time the battery was totally dead. I have a GM 100 amp altornator. What could be the problem? Ive had these kind of probvlems ever since i got my zuk..
Could a loose belt (or slipping) be the problem?

I want to go on a trail run tomorrow, and i goto get it fixed tonite!

Re: Need Help FAST!!!

Remove Bat + terminal confirm no shorts or battery load.
Test alt output if alt charging battery and everything be
look'in real good, then replace battery as they are tricky.

Alt can get hot and be intermittant but seldom.

Make sure belt is tight, but not too tight.

Re: Need Help FAST!!!

OK heres what im going to do.. when i got home i noticed the alt belt was very loose so im going to go to the store tomorrow and buy a new one. (i found this one in my backyard and it is old).
Im then going to clean all the battery terminals, and all the wire connections
My Gm 100 amp alt is working fine i belive becuase i took the pos battery cable off the battery and the truck continued to run, barley, but if i took any draw it stalled.. so im assumeing that thats what the loose belt caused.
Also when i tighten my alt ill use loc-tite.

My belt must have been slipping becuase my engine was very (VERY) hot by the time i got home, and this was on the street, no slow off-road stuff. Ill let you know what i come up with tomorrow..

By the way, i did get my Front drive shaft thing fixed, i put in another 1" spacer, itll do for now.. My friend lent it to me so i dont have to make that cheapass spacer i made today out of a chunk of wood heheh.. and i one of my u-joints is [censored].

Re: Need Help FAST!!!

I had the same thing happen a few years back.

Two things I found:

1. one of the two headlight fuses was blown
2. I had a bad ground from one of the headlights.

repaired both of those and my troubles went away.

Good Luck
