Bumper question

well, i think i need a new bumper. Ill post a pic later of the bumper i have now. Has a huge space in hte middle so that we can haul it with the motorhome (last owner installed it... wasnt me, but i do use it) i want to get the wheelers offroad brushguard kinda thing seen on HAWK suzuki http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...nce=0&res=high

Do i have to put anything else on to make this bumper fit?
Should i make my own bumper? thx

Re: Bumper question

GOOT, if i were you i would buy the whole wheelers off-road bumper. Geoff Beasley haves it and he loves it. ONce you start bashing into trees and trying to climb rocks and such, youll see the stock bumper is totally garbage, and it doesnt even look good.
You may have to do some modifications to the stock bumper if you want to put the wheelers off-road thing on and keep the stock bumper, becuase thebumper bolts onto the frame rails, and other parts i think, which the stock bumper is blocking.
Or if you have access to some tools and can get some steel, make your own, i made my front bumper, im quite satisfied with it altho i with i tilted the front bar thing back more, and id rather have one out of C channel, but this one works good. I welded some spring perches onto it, but before i did that i drilled holes in them, and welded nuts on the inside so i can attach tow hook, i have 2, 10000 LB tow hooks on it plus brackets for my tow bar. It would be a lot easier to add things like lights, and tow mounts to a flat bumper, espicially one made of C channel becuase you can access the back of it, yet is still strong. Just my opinion.. If you want to talk some more bout it go on ICQ, im on for a nother hour or so..
