Re: Carbs??

carbs aren't all that bad...... it's just a simple metering tool that get correct amount of fuel in ration to the air so your engine can run. and also ..... it's simple to fix if it gives you problem during your trail run. try repairing a fuel injection when you're stuck deep in the woods........ don't worry.... it's not all that bad...... I have been running my stock carb since i got my sammy new. It's not the Hitachi carb but the samurai I have was fitted with an Aisan carb from the factory.

Re: Carbs??

JKing,
You can say that because your Zuk came with an Aisan carb!! What specific Aisan carb came fitted on the Zuks in Malaysia? I wish the US Zuks had used those instead of the Hitachi.

Re: Carbs??

May I ask, why off the EFI?

EFI is may more reliable than carb. My '94 has over 130K on it and still runs beautifully.

From a power, reliability and performance standpoint, a EFI beats a carb hands down in my book.

If you sill want to lose the EFI, can I buy the ECM off you?

Re: Carbs??

No idea to what Aisan carb is fitted but basically it's similar spec to the hitachi only different manufacturer. can't seem to find a part number either.

true that EFI is better in a number of ways but then if it's broken when you're in the jungle..... oh boy!!!!!!

either way, both fuel systems has got its good and bad...
so you have to decide.

Re: Carbs??

Well I would like to get some easy horses by buyin' a weber carb! Plus performance is not really a big difference since carbs have 64h.p. and EFI gets 66h.p.(stock of course) plus I just do not really value Efi systems, I will probably sell my Efi system to someone when I do the conversion and get some of my money back!

Re: Carbs??

I figured that since you get a 20% h.p. increase like night and day on the little 1.3 bandit which is a real good up-grade for the sammy!!
