New Vehicle!

Hey, I was looking at my new Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road (April 01) today and seen that Ford (of all others) has a new concept vehicle called the EX! It looks like a Rock Buggie, it has composite body sections on chrome-moly steel frame; aluminum radiator w/dual fans, t-case moved back to create balanced weight distribution; removable door panels; off-road lights; windshield folds down; full roll cage; all weather seats w/ 4 point harnesses. The departure angle is 90 degrees! This thing looks bad arse! Too bad its a Ford! Check it out on page 21.

Re: New Vehicle!

Problem is if it ever comes to be developed it will probably have a Hummer/Sniper/Avalanche price tag!!

Re: New Vehicle!

It looks way cool, but in its present form it's much more of an "image" vehicle than a true off-roader. Where are the 15-inch wheels? Where are the live axles front and rear? Why hasn't Ford given us its low-range and axle ratios?

But still, I gotta hand it to Ford....they're finally on the right track. Screw all that bubbly ovally crap of the last 15 years! Their latest concepts (the EX and the Forty-Nine) are actually vehicles that I wouldn't mind being seen in! *gasp* I never thought I'd say that about a Ford! Hopefully if they make it to production, they'll be better-built than previous Fords.
