New Mig welder woo hoo!

Just went and bought a Mig welder Used but alot better than the small one I have been fighting with.
Its a 220V 40-120amp machine, with full size spool and
stich, spot welding options. All for $250.00 ! man this will make my fabrication so much easier. That and I can finally
fix the body of the Wildweasel for good.
that and my son is learning to be a welder so I have a feeling he will be using it too. (Along with Max.)
Just had to tell someone.

Outstanding....I loved my welder so much I signed up for a welding class at the local Community College. Good class, and I am learning alot.

Re: New Mig welder woo hoo!

$200 cherry Sams, $250 kick-ass welders. What's next?

"Wow Guys, I just bought a 4-BR, 3-BA split level ranch with a 4 bay garage, in-ground pool and 150 acres with simply awesome rock crawling to be had on it. And I picked it up for $15,000."

Just bustin' chops, buddy. Man I wish we were so lucky. That's the same size that Bob and I have been looking for.

Good luck and I'll see you this weekend.

Re: New Mig welder woo hoo!

Turns out to be a 135-140 amp welder! it is a marquette M12185 it is one of Lincons sub-brands I guess.
Both the boy and myself are quite happy with it to say the least. I am hoping my son will start producing some parts, Myself I like R&D and 1 offs.

Re: New Mig welder woo hoo!

Glenn that is just fantastic. I am very happy that you got something that more accurately fits your skill level of welding. Now about that bottle hook up on your old welder? what will ya be looking for $ wise on that?? I still have to get mine set up. And i still have to get my stick set up, but hey its the potential i love. Mark is here down from maine and we are heading off to paridise tommorow to pick up a few things, namely isolator switches off of vans and high out put alts and york ac pumps for onboard air. I am picking up your snorkel too. Later, Max

Re: New Mig welder woo hoo!

Well the co2 bottle that I am using isn't mine its a friends, And until I have some other source of onboard air thats
it.. I am going to rent a big tank for a year then buy one. I will find out how much rental is and let you know.
(This way I will have an account With the welding gas place and I can swap tanks locally, (Amherst where I work anyway.) Whats the plan on Marks hardtop? You bringing it up or is he just going to drag it home?
The new welder uses a big spool o'wire so I have some small ones you can have as I am going to buy a gas valve
and install it in the small mig and pedel that.
